Conditions & Repertoire
The competition consists of three rounds, a qualification round, a semi-finals and a final round respectively.
The 1st VIAC Vocal Competition is open to male and female singers of all nationalities born between 1984 and 2002.
To register all candidates are required to
- Fill out online application form
- Upload scan of valid ID
- Upload Curriculum Vitae outlining previous musical studies and professional activities
- Pay registration fee
During the registration process the candidates must specify their type of voice as well as the city of the Qualification Round they want to participate in.
Furthermore, they have to name the titles and composers of the arias they are going to present during the Qualification Round, the Semi-Final and the Final Round.
It is not possible to make any changes to those informations given, after the closing date for the registration.

To confirm registration, a registration fee in the amount of € 75 has to be paid through bank transfer to the following account:

No other form of payment will be accepted and the registration fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.
There are no additional fees for the candidates selected for the semi-finals and final round.
The repertoire for the competition consist of 5 opera arias chosen by the candidate. The arias must be performed in original key and in original language and have to be sung from memory.
a) Qualification Round
For the Qualification Round, the candidates must prepare 2 of the submitted arias. The candidate will perform 1 aria of his/her choosing. The jury reserves the right to request a second aria.
For the Semi-Final the candidate must prepare 3 arias not previously performed during the qualification round. The candidate will perform 1 aria of his/her choosing. The jury reserves the right to request a second aria.
For the final Round, two arias will be chosen by the jury.
All candidates are required to provide scores for the accompanists.
An official accompanist will be selected by the organizers for all candidates. Every candidate has the right to bring an accompanist of his/her own choice and at his/her own expense.
Only before the Final Round it is possible to have a rehearsal with the pianist.

Candidates agree that their data provided during the registration process (Name, Voice Type, Nationality, Birthday, Languages, Arias, Education, Engagements, Studied Parts) will be made available to judges and professional observers in the final rounds and the finals concert.
